Project: insurance Sure Can Arrange Meeting (iScam)
iScam is a desktop application used for insurance agents to keep track of their clients and the meetings that they have. The user interacts with it using a CLI, and it has a GUI created with JavaFX. It is written in Java, and has about 18k LoC.
Given below are my contributions to the project.
- New Feature: Meetings
- What it does: Allows the insurance agent to record the meetings they are going to have with their clients and track which meeting is coming soon, all through CLI commands and view through the GUI.
- Justification: Even though insurance policies can be purchased online, many clients still prefers the personal touch of having an agent to handle the matters. The interaction between clients and agents often comes in the form of physical or digital meetings. So, agents may need to juggle all these meetings and ensure not to dissapoint any clients and lose a policy. This feature will help to minimize that effort and help them to juggle those meetings.
- Highlights:
- A new suite of commands that is similar to the Person commands from AddressBook-3.
- Basic commands are all enhanced to fit the needs of a meeting.
- Additional commands like
donemeet
,reschedule
,relocate
etc are also added to allow ease of access for the agents.
- The agent’s meetings are all displayed in the GUI’s list with incomplete and complete meetings grouped together and each sorted in chronological order.
- A new suite of commands that is similar to the Person commands from AddressBook-3.
- Credits: Structure of the command suite is adopted from the Person commands from AddressBook-3
